And then we tried to make it to Copenhagen
So after making a slight human error in ordering tickets we had a headache of a layover at the Amsterdam airport for a massive fifteen hours....ouch! We wandered aimlessly around this airport finding random chairs to strew our jet lagged and tired bodies on to no avail, only gaining sore backs and legs that constantly fell asleep. Our only relief was stumbling upon an outside terrace that allowed a much needed breath of fresh air. When we finally made it aboard our plane we slipped in and out of a much needed sleep, but the adventure was far from over. Upon exiting and gathering our luggage we embarked on the adventure itself of attempting to locate transportation to the hostel we were staying. After staring blankly at poor street maps and train ticket info, we were meet by what we are leaving as a guardian angel, who bought us tickets upon the declining of our cards and showed us where to go on the train. Feeling the night had taken a turn for the better we hopped off the metro to what we thought would be an easy stroll to the hostel,........................ we were so wrong. I am pretty sure we might have passed by the metro station that we exited maybe six or seven times as we criss-crossed back and forth attempting to find the main street we needed and I am also pretty sure at some point it began to sprinkle as we attempted to lug maybe one hundred pounds of luggage across cobblestone streets while the locals laughed at us also occurred, but I have tried to erase that night and its events from my mind which was greatly aided by our deep groggy state. Well, we finally made it the hostel after three hours of stumbling aimlessly around the cobblestone filled streets of Copenhagen, all we could think of was warm beds and relief from our aching backs, but wait the world still had another curve ball to throw at us. I am sorry your cards have both been declined, well shit now what are we going to do? We ended up using what little US dollars we had left to make a poor exchange in place of DKKs. Welcome to Copenhagen, good night!
